Services

The Manlius Senior Centre provides the following services. Please phone our office at (315) 682-7889 to make reservations or for more information.

AARP 55 Alive Defensive Driving Class

Although the Senior Centre no longer offers this class on a regular basis, we can refer you to other centers that do. You may also want to consider taking the class online at your convenience via the AARP website. Go to www.aarpdriversafety.org for details.


AARP Tax Preparation Assistance

Trained AARP volunteers will be available at the Manlius Library to assist with tax preparation, beginning in February 2012. For information and/or an appointment, please phone the library at 682-6400.


Social Worker's Assistance, Health Insurance Counseling Available by Appointment

For assistance with transportation, home care, HEAP, housing, Social Security, or similar senior concerns, please phone the Centre office at 682-7889 for referral to a social worker. These free services are available through the County Department of Aging and Youth to residents of Onondaga County aged 60 or over. The social worker will make an appointment to visit you in your home. If you have questions about the program, please contact the office.

For health insurance counseling, please call the Department of Aging directly at 435-2362 and ask to speak to a HIICAP counselor.


Annual Flu Shot Clinic

A flu shot clinic is scheduled each fall in cooperation with Regional Medical Services.


Senior Centre Nutrition Program

The Senior Centre serves lunches every Monday through Thursday at noon. A donation of $3.50 is requested, and reservations must be made by 1:30 PM on the previous day. No one will be turned away for inability to pay. Click here for this month's menu.


Monthly Blood Pressure Clinic

A free blood pressure clinic is provided by medical staff members of Wynwood of Manlius monthly in the Senior Centre's Lamoreaux Room. Readings are usually taken on the second Tuesday of each month, between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM, depending on provider availability. Please phone 682-7889 to confirm our next clinic date.
