EXERCISE OPTIONS:
Exercise increases your energy, strength, and sense of well-being. Seniors of all ages and ability levels are welcome at our exercise classes. Please note that some of the classes listed below do not meet during the summer or school holidays; please call the office at 315-682-7889 for more information. Make sure you check with your physician prior to starting any exercise regime.
When attending exercise classes, please enter through the front door of the Centre and sign in at the table. And to continue providing the Centre with certified instructors, please pay a fee of $1 per class (excluding Tai Chi, which costs $4 per class, and Line Dancing, which costs $3) in the basket next to the sign-in sheet.
Chair Yoga is held on Mondays 11 a.m.
Strength and Balance class is offered at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on both Tuesdays and Thursdays and also on Fridays at 10 a.m.
POUND Exercise Class:
The POUND workout involves simple moves and fuses cardio interval training with drumming. Each class member uses drum sticks for the workout; these are provided by the instructor. The class is held on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and is about 45 minutes long. (On hiatus during the summer, returning September, 2023)
Intermediate Tai Chi class meets on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. in the Village Auditorium. The pre-requisites for participating are previous completion of a beginning level class, or instructor permission. The cost is $20 for a 5-class punch card, available from the instructor.
Beginner Zumba classes are held every Friday at 11 a.m.
Line Dancing classes are held every Friday at 12:45 p.m. Please the instructor directly ($3).
Pickleball: Open play is available for members who play at, or above, the beginner level on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is no fee to play.
Fitness Room:
Our members are welcome to use the Centre’s fitness room. A recumbent bike, recumbent elliptical, treadmill, and rowing machine are available for your use after you complete a brief orientation session. Please note: all members must sign a waiver before using the fitness room. Please call (315-682-7889) or stop by the office for more information.
