Exercise increases your energy, strength, and sense of well-being. Seniors of all ages and ability levels are welcome at our exercise classes. Please note that some of the classes listed below do not meet during the summer or school holidays; please phone the office at 682-7889 for more information.
Chair Yoga is held on Mondays at 11:00 AM in the Village Auditorium. The cost is a modest $2 per class for Senior Centre members, and $4 per class for non-members. You have the option of purchasing a punch card for $30 (or $60) for 15 classes, or paying by the individual class. Please buy your punch card in the Senior Centre office, or come to the office to purchase an individual class ticket.
A free Strength and Balance class is offered at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM on both Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Village Auditorium. The class is also offered at 11 AM on Fridays. Hand weights and exercise bands are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own. Classes are held throughout the year when the Senior Centre is open.
A Chair Yoga/Meditation class is held in the Auditorium at 11:00 AM on Wednesday mornings. The fee is $2 per class for MSC members, and $4 per class for non-members. The last date for this class is Wednesday, May 23rd at 11:00AM. However, Chris will still hold this class on Mondays at 11:00AM!
An Intermediate Tai Chi class meets on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM in the Village Auditorium. The pre-requisites for participating are previous completion of a beginning level class, or instructor permission. The cost is $20 for a 5-class punch card, available from the instructor.
A free Gentle Yoga class will be held in the Auditorium on Friday mornings at 9:30 AM. The class is appropriate for beginning and intermediate students. Participants must bring their own floor mats.
A Walking Group meets at 1:00 PM on Mondays and Fridays, rain or shine. Both days are led by Dick Gilmore. The group will choose from a variety of routes and destinations. Please phone 315-682-7889 for more information.
Table Tennis is scheduled on Mondays from 10 AM through noon, and on Fridays from 11:30 AM through 1:00 PM in our Gallery Room (when the room isn't in use for another program). For information about our exercise program, please call the Centre at 682-7889.
Our members are welcome to use the Centre’s fitness room. A recumbent bike, recumbent elliptical, treadmill, and rowing machine are available for your use after you complete a brief orientation session. We ask that you reserve a time by stopping in at the office or calling us at 682-7889.
