VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Senior Centre depends upon volunteers to assist with our lunch program, work at special events, raise funds, serve on committees, teach classes, and more. Volunteers are an important and valued asset to our Centre.
The Centre serves lunch at noon from Monday through Friday. Dining Room volunteers usually work at one or two lunches monthly, as scheduled by our volunteer coordinator. They set tables, prepare coffee, assist the Kitchen Manager, serve lunch to attendees, and help with clean-up. The time commitment is usually from 11:15 AM to 1:00 PM Monday-Thursday and 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Fridays. (volunteers need to be able to stand for much of that time).
The Senior Centre holds multiple fundraising events throughout the year, including tag sales, bake sales, an annual giving campaign, a Business Partners Fair, special luncheons and dinners, and more. Volunteers staff these events and/or work as members of our Fundraising Committee.
Volunteers also teach some of our exercise classes, or present programs and workshops on their individual topics of expertise. If you have an idea for a program you'd like to organize at the Senior Centre, you're encouraged to contact the office.
If you're interested in any of these positions, or if you'd like to serve as a volunteer in another capacity, please print out the volunteer application form, complete it, and bring or mail it to the Senior Centre office. Prospective volunteers are also welcome to phone the Centre at 682-7889.
